JOHN TYREE
John TYREE was born ca 1789 in Virginia.He married 26 March 1826 to Clarissa DAVENPORT. Clarissa was born ca. 1810, in North Carolina John was a farmer, living in Carouse twp. in the 1850 census of Hempstead County, Arkansas.

Sarah Ann TYREE b. ca. 1828 in Arkansas. She married 3 March 1853 to Wm. EDMONDSON. He died in the Civil War. Wm. was the son of Ely and Priscilla LOGAN-EDMONDSON. She married the 2nd time to Henry McELROY/McROY.

Priscilla Elizabeth EDMONDSON md. George Washington ROSS. She was born in 1857 and died in 1896.

Daniel C. TYREE b. ca. 1830 He married 20 June 1850 to Miriah T. WHITESIDES. Miriah was b. 1826 and died 1893. He had a grist mill and saw mill on Vicker's Creek Civil War 20th Ark. Myra age 17 orphan

(Cassy) who married 1/___ 2/ DEAN S Jacob (Jake) Jackson TYREE born 29, June 1856. He married Marjorie A. DEAN, the daughter of John C. and Amanda COVINGTON-DEAN. A family story is: Deans were sitting on their porch when Marjorie was a little girl and he rode by. Jake saw her and said, "I'll return and marry her." He returned when she was 18 and he was 35 (marriage records read 22 and he 28) and ask, "Would you like your name to be TYREE on your tombstone?" Marjorie was born 30 June 1871 and died 25 April 1959. He died 7 May 1924. They are buried at Midway Church Cemetery Nevada County (between Prescott and Blevins). Jake with his family lived on a branch of Brushy Creek where they would swim and fish. They attended New Hope Methodist Church.
